Materials
A sixteen-ounce head, drop-forged, on an American hickory handle. Held by a wooden wedge and two steel wedges. Overall length is three hundred thirty millimetres.
Care
Leave the handle dry and unfinished; varnish will slip once your hands are damp. If the head loosens, the wedge is the culprit — and a hammer gets re-handled, not replaced.
